Good ingredients, smug dogs, happy owners.
Every morning you rub a bit of cream into your hands without thinking twice. Quick, easy, done. So we asked ourselves a slightly ridiculous question: why don't our dogs get the same?
MEET ALFIE
Alfie is a Zuchon. Half Shih Tzu, half Bichon, entirely in charge. He's also the reason Pawthecary exists.

We tried paw balms. We tried wax sticks. Lots of them.
And every single time it went one of two ways. Either Alfie wriggled like we'd asked him to do his tax return, or we finally got some on and he licked it straight back off. Job very much not done.
Then came the sofa incident. Freshly balmed, Alfie hopped down onto our wooden floor, his waxy paws went in four directions at once, and he very nearly hurt himself. Add the greasy prints on the sofa, the blankets and the floor, and we'd had enough.
So we went looking for a cream instead. Something light that soaks in quickly and doesn't leave a trail behind it. Turns out almost everything out there is a balm. So we made our own.
PAWS DO A LOT
Think about everything your dog's paws get through in a year. Sand by the sea that works its way between their toes. Muddy woodland walks full of twigs and mystery bits. Frosty mornings and gritted pavements, where Blue Cross recommends washing paws afterwards because salt and grit can irritate footpads.
And summers aren't getting any cooler. 2025 was the UK's warmest summer on record, and the Met Office says all five of the UK's warmest summers have happened since 2000. Pavements soak up that heat and get far hotter than the air above them, so always do the back of the hand test before a sunny walk.
Our cream can't stop any of that (sadly, it doesn't come with a tiny parasol). What it can do is give those hardworking paws a bit of daily care once the adventure's over.
WHO IT'S FOR
Pawthecary is for people whose dog is family, not "just the dog". The ones who know exactly which side of the bed is theirs (it's the middle).
Who'd rather spend thirty seconds on a little ritual than ten minutes on a wrestling match. And who want something that looks lovely on the shelf and works just as nicely on the paw.
WHAT MATTERS TO US
Vegan and unscented
No fragrance at all. Dogs' noses are far more sensitive than ours, so we've left the perfume out entirely.
Small batch, made in the UK
Our cream is made in small batches in the North West of England by an independent woman led manufacturer, and every batch has to get past our toughest critic first. Alfie.
THE SMUG DOG SEAL OF APPROVAL
We started Pawthecary because we couldn't find what we wanted for Alfie. We hope it's exactly what you've been looking for too.
